Teriyaki-Chicken-Skewers with Papaya

Teriyaki-Chicken-Skewers with Papaya

It is Spring already! Just in time we started our BBQ season! Even WeightWatchers has send me the BBQ Newsletter today. We were one day ahead and made some healthy Chicken Skewers for only 1P.

Its not easy to get good quality chicken in China, but I was lucky and got some Tyson chicken, with no antibiotics from our weekly iorganic shop. The best part of the skewer is the GMO-free papaya which I’ve also bought at iorganic this week. Normally I’m not a big fan of papaya, but this yellow one is so juicy and tender you can eat it as a sweet snack as well. When I buy my next one I have to share some pics with you!

Ingredients

500g chicken breast
2 garlic cloves
5 Tbsp Teriyaki sauce (substitute: soy sauce and sugar)
3 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
3 tsp olive oil
salt and pepper
1 big ripe papaya
1 big red onion

Directions

Cut the chicken breast in big chunks. Smash the garlic and mix it together with Teriyaki-Marinade, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper. Marinate the chicken for around 1 hour. Not more!

Peel the papaya, pit and cut in pieces for the skewer. Cut the onion in wedges.

Assemble the skewer while arranging the chicken, onions and papaya pieces alternately.

Grill for 20 minutes on low flame and turn one time.
Enjoy your fruity grilled dish!
